The Scarf Runner offers artful and imaginative scarves hand knit from some of the loveliest yarns available. Like many people, I’m allergic to wool, and the fibers I use to create the scarves are mostly hypoallergenic–silk, cotton, linen, bamboo, and alpaca. Some scarves are silk or cotton blends which do contain mohair or wool but remain soft and non-irritating to the skin. And, once in a while, of course, I can’t resist a beautiful wool yarn– my resolve breaks down, I buy it and and knit with it. However, I always list the exact fiber content of scarves so people with allergies can choose carefully. Many of the yarns I use are hand-dyed or hand-painted – and a few are hand-spun – making each scarf a marvelous, one-of-a-kind piece.
